GENERAL INFORMATION
Promoting Young Academics - doctoral scholarships from the German Limes Commission
By resolution of the German Limes Commission in 2009, doctoral scholarships are awarded at regular intervals to promote and support young researchers. The basic aim of the funding is to analyse excavations and collections along the Limes in Germany.
For more detailed information, please refer to the doctoral scholarship regulations.
The German Limes Commission endeavours to award regular scholarships in cooperation with the co-financing of state heritage offices based upon the budgetary allowance every two years. The application procedure will be announced in advance on the homepage of the German Limes Commission. All Chairs of Provincial Roman Archaeology and Pre- and Protohistoric Archaeology specialising in Provincial Roman Archaeology in Germany will also be notified of the call for applications and thus have the additional opportunity to inform the student body about the award via internal platforms.
